Russia-Ukraine conflict: Hollywood Studios announces suspension of film releases in Russia

Warner Bros., the Walt Disney Co. and Sony Pictures said Monday that they would “pause” the release of their films in Russia

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Hollywood studios Disney, Warner Bros. and Sony have stated that they will stop releasing movies in Russia.

A statement from Disney stated that future business decisions will be based on changing circumstances.

Warner Bros. said in a statement that they were reviewing the situation and were waiting for a peaceful solution to the Ukraine issue.

It should be noted that Russia is a major market for Hollywood, Hollywood movies made  601 million dollar in Russia in 2021.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian army has accused the Russian army of resuming attacks on the capital Kyiv.

According to the British newspaper, a 17 mile long Russian military convoy consisting of hundreds of tanks and military vehicles is heading towards Kyiv airport.
