WELLINGTON: A baby of a rare shark found in the depths of the ocean has been discovered that looks like a creature from another world.

According to the BBC, 'ghost sharks' also known as chimaera are very difficult to see while their children are almost impossible to see.

The baby was found at a depth of 1.2 km off the coast of a New Zealand island, and appeared to have hatched at that time. The team of scientists said that this discovery will help in understanding the stages of pregnancy of ghost sharks.

Dr. Burt Finochi, a member of the team, said the baby shark was discovered by accident. In fact, research was being done on the underwater aquatic population when the baby hatched.

He also said that the creatures found in the depths of the oceans are not commonly seen, especially this type of shark.
