Canada and Britain have imposed sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, justifying the attack on Ukraine.

According to the foreign news agency, Britain has frozen the assets of Russian President Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on NATO partners to freeze the assets of Russia's president and foreign minister.

The European Union (EU) has added Russia's president and foreign minister to its sanctions list.

The European Union's foreign policy chief has confirmed that Putin and Lavrov have been added to the list.

The Prime Minister of Canada, Justice Trudeau, has also banned Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister.

Justin Trudeau condemned the attack, saying Swift supported blocking Russia from the banking system.

The White House said in a statement that the United States would also impose sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
