UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres says daily life in Afghanistan has become a frozen hell.

Addressing the Security Council, Antonio Guterres called for the suspension of aid operations in Afghanistan and for international aid to pay the salaries of public sector workers.

"We need to suspend the conditions that limit not only Afghanistan's economy but also our life-saving operations," he said.

According to a foreign news agency, the UN Secretary-General added that the Taliban should work with the international community, the Security Council, to reduce the threat of terrorism.
