Dismissed from ministry due to Muslim faith: British MP

Nusrat Ghani, a Muslim MP from Britain's ruling Conservative Party, has claimed that he was fired from his ministry because of his Muslim faith.

According to a foreign news agency, Nusrat Ghani said that Islamism was raised as an issue in Downing Street, the chief whip had told him that his Muslim faith was disturbing his colleagues.

Nusrat Ghani, 49, was removed from the post of transport minister in February 2020 during a cabinet reshuffle.

Talking about this, Nusrat Ghani said that he remained silent after being warned about the destruction of his reputation and career.

In addition, Carey Starmer, Leader of the Opposition in the United Kingdom, expressed solidarity with Nusrat Ghani and said that the Conservative Party must conduct a full and immediate investigation into the allegations.
