A Yemeni national has been held in the notorious Guantanamo Bay prison for 20 years without charge. Appeal to Biden's for Release

Khalid Qasim, a Yemeni prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay prison since 2002 without trial or charge, has appealed to US President Biden for release.

Guantanamo Bay detainee Khalid Qasim said in a letter published in a British newspaper that the golden 20 years of his life were lost in American custody.

Khalid Qasim has said that justice in America is only for Americans, the administration of Guantanamo Bay is oppressive and there is a lot of violence and mental torture.

He said he was optimistic about former US President Barack Obama's statement to close Guantanamo Bay and still hopes President Biden will keep his word.

It is clear that the current US administration intends to close Guantanamo Bay completely.

The Pentagon says there are now only 35 to 40 detainees in the prison, up from 800 previously, 14 are still being reviewed and 2 have been convicted, and the transfer of the remaining detainees is being considered.
