India should give full protection to basic human rights in Kashmir: US

The United States says India should fully protect basic human rights in occupied Kashmir.

US State Department Urdu spokesman Z Tarar told Geo News that Pakistan and India should start meaningful talks to reduce tensions along the Line of Control.

The State Department said that Pakistan and India should reduce tensions on the Line of Control, and start positive talks on other issues, including Kashmir.

Z. Tarar said that Pakistan and India are partner countries of the United States, solve problems through dialogue.

He said the United States was examining whether the Taliban were abiding by or violating the terms of the peace agreement, did not want a war but would not immediately withdraw US troops from Afghanistan.

The State Department added that it was hoped that Pakistan would fulfill its responsibilities in the case of the murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl.

Zaid Tarar also said that Iran would join the nuclear deal in consultation with the European Union, China and Arab partners, and that the United States was examining how far Iran had come from the terms of the nuclear deal.
