The United Nations has barred its staff from traveling on any Pakistani airline
- The decision was made by the United Nations following an investigation into a suspicious license, after which the United Nations allowed its staff to travel to Afghanistan by a registered airline.
Case of fake license
- It may be recalled that a few months ago, Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan had said in the National Assembly that the licenses of 262 Pakistani pilots were fake.
- Following Ghulam Sarwar Khan's statement, the government had issued a list of 262 pilots, including 141 pilots of Pakistan Airlines (PIA), on charges of forged or suspicious licenses.
- The European Union, Britain and the United States have banned PIA flights after the case of Pakistani pilots with suspicious licenses came to light.
