India released toxic water into the Sutlej River

India released toxic polluted water into the Sutlej River, which killed thousands of fish.

In Bahawalnagar, water coming from India into the Sutlej River has been revealed to be allegedly toxic, endangering aquatic life.

A large quantity of dead fish has come to the river bank from the poisonous water while the fishmongers and other people have started picking up the dead fish lying on the banks which has created fear of selling the fish in the market.

According to District Environment Officer Babar Khan, the water released into the Sutlej River between January and February each year contains allegedly toxic chemicals.
