The International Sports Arbitration Court has reduced the ban on Russian athletes by two years

  • The International Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced the ban on Russian athletes involved in doping offenses to two years.
  •  It should be noted that last year, the World Doping Agency banned Russia for four years for providing fake evidence and data loss by the Russian Doping Agency, against which Russia had appealed to the International Sports Arbitration Court.
  • The International Sports Arbitration Court has banned Russian athletes for two years instead of four.
  • Despite the ban, Russian athletes will not be able to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which will be postponed to next year due to Corona.
  • In addition, Russian athletes will not be able to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics in China. In addition, Russia has been eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
  • Apart from these, Russian athletes will not be able to represent Russia in any international event for 2 years. However, athletes who prove that they have not been involved in doping can participate in the event under the Olympic flag as independents. Russia's national anthem will not be played and its flag will not be used.
