Memorandum of Understanding signed between Pakistan and Chinese forces to enhance cooperation
- Chinese National Defense Minister General Wei Feng called on Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed issues of mutual interest, including regional security.
- According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), issues related to enhancing bilateral defense cooperation were also discussed during the meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ).
- The Chinese Minister for National Defense appreciated the sincere efforts of the Pakistan Army for regional peace and also the efforts of the Pakistan Army to provide a safe environment for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
- According to ISPR, the Army Chief thanked China for Pakistan's unwavering support on all important issues in regional and international forums.
- The Army Chief said that we stand by each other, our relationship will not be affected in the face of future challenges.
- After the meeting of the two leaders, talks were held in the form of a delegation in which a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the two forces to enhance defense cooperation.
- Earlier, on arrival at GHQ, the Chinese Minister of National Defense laid flowers at the Martyrs' Memorial and a well-armed contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honor to the guests.
