Numerous drastic measures are taken around the world to prevent plagiarism during exams, but recently the African country of Sudan has seen a unique measure to prevent plagiarism.


  • In Sudan, about 500,000 high school graduates will take university entrance exams in September, and authorities have decided to suspend mobile internet service to prevent mass plagiarism.

  • According to a foreign news agency, mobile internet service has been shut down in Sudan from 8am to 11am to prevent large-scale plagiarism during university entrance exams.

  • As many as 13 million mobile phone users are unable to use the internet due to the suspension of mobile internet service by the authorities from 8 am to 11 am daily till September 24.

  • The Sudanese government has banned only mobile internet service, but banks and other companies are operating under cable internet service.
