Karachi: Zia-ud-Din University and Hospital organized a virtual seminar "Find the Missing Millions" on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ninda Hussain, Pro-Chancellor of the University, said that people with liver disease are more likely to have corona because the liver of such patients is already affected, so corona attacks them early. More caution is needed.

Hepatitis B can be transmitted from pregnant women to children, while the chances of transmitting hepatitis C are low. Dr. Zaigham Abbas, President, Liver Pakistani Society for the Study of Liver Diseases, said that unfortunately Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E are found in Pakistan in all its forms. Significant symptoms of hepatitis include jaundice, vomiting, nervousness, dizziness, and liver disease.

Hepatitis can be transmitted through blood transfusions, unprotected sexual intercourse and used razors. Lack of hygiene is also a major cause of the spread of the virus. Preventive measures are needed in the country to curb the growing number of hepatitis cases.
